Walmart acquiredBotmock, a move which will allow them to launch text and voice based shopping services.
Walmart had already significantly invested in voice based shopping with through Google & Siri, but with this acquisition, they will be able to do voice to text and text only shopping across platforms. The broader picture would allow, "conversations developed within Botmock [to].... be output to text-based or voice platforms, including Apple Business Chat, WhatsApp, SMS, Messenger, Microsoft Office Teams, Slack, Alexa or Google Assistant."
This is clearly a very big move, and creates massive convenience, given the amount of time most Americans spend on their phones.
